A self-adhesive masking set from the Dead Design brand intended for models of the Douglas A-4 Skyhawk light attack aircraft in the E, F and K versions in 1:32 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that takes the place of laborious cutting of masks from tape. The set is pre-shaped to the glazing parts and their frames, so once stuck down it follows their actual shape. The exact extent and the number of pieces in the package are stated on the box of the set.
The Skyhawk is a compact carrier-based attack aircraft with a delta wing which, thanks to its small span, did not have to fold for stowage on deck. The A-4E and A-4F versions belonged to the later series for the US Navy and Marine Corps, and the A-4K designation corresponds to an export form. That is exactly why the set is tied to this group of versions: the shape of the canopy and the windscreen differs between the individual series, and a mask cut for another version would not fit. Within the same range there is also a double-sided form for masking from inside as well as outside, and a separate set of masks for the national insignia; this item is the basic version.
Rid the glazing parts of grease first and let them dry completely. Take the mask out carefully, lay it on the glass and press it so that it seats all the way around the frame; on curved areas work in stages. Cover the rest of the part with tape or masking putty. Spray the paint in thin coats, so that it does not run under the edge of the mask. Once the paint has dried, take the mask off, ideally with tweezers and with a shallow pull rather than straight up.
This is an accessory for the build. The aircraft model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
