The Eurofighter Typhoon is a European multirole combat aircraft with its characteristic combination of a delta wing and canard foreplanes. The set concentrates on its engine exhaust nozzles in the early form, that is, on a place that is clearly visible on the finished model and on which the eye comes to rest first.
The replacement nozzles have thin trailing edges and a well-detailed interior, so once they are fitted the depth of the duct and the division into individual segments can be seen. The parts are not polystyrene and are glued with super glue; they are fitted to the model in place of the original kit parts.
Cut the excess material off a little way from the part with a sharp blade and sand the remainder down carefully, so that the mating surface stays flat. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint will take poorly. Metallic shades applied in thin coats work well: a lighter base at the mouth, darker toning toward the rim and a light accent on the heat-stressed areas. Fit the nozzles only once they are painted, because assembly on a finished model is cleaner and the paint is damaged less.
The accessory will be appreciated by modelers who build the Typhoon in 1:32 scale and want to sharpen the rear end of the aircraft without laborious reworking of the kit parts. Before you buy, check that the aircraft you are building matches the early nozzle form; later aircraft differ in this place.
