1:32 Ejection seat ACES II (2 pcs) is a resin set of two ACES II ejection seats in 1:32 scale, the American type from the cockpits of the F-15, F-16 and A-10. It is an accessory, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds two resin ACES II ejection seats for models of American jet aircraft in 1:32 scale. Unlike the British Mk. series seats this is an American design, so in shape it is an entirely different part and a mix-up would show on the model. The box does not hold an aircraft model; it is used to replace the simplified plastic part from the cockpit.
ACES stands for Advanced Concept Ejection Seat, and the second generation of this type became the standard of the US Air Force from the late 1970s. It served and still serves in the cockpits of machines such as the F-15, F-16 and A-10, and you will also find it in heavy bombers. The seat works in the zero-zero regime, that is it can save the pilot even while standing on the runway, and it evaluates speed and altitude itself in order to choose the right escape sequence. In shape you will know it by the angular body, the prominent headrest and the equipment pack behind the pilot's back.
Wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw where the cockpit structure will then hide them, and level the surface with wet sandpaper and respiratory protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). After the primer, give the body of the seat a dark shade, set the cushions apart, run a dry brush along the edges and bring the yellow and black firing handles out in contrast. A fine wash into the recesses deepens the detail and the seat gains volume.
