The Dassault Rafale is a French multirole combat aircraft with a delta wing and foreplanes. It flies in a single-seat as well as a two-seat rendition and serves from land bases as well as from the deck of an aircraft carrier. The cockpit is set high and the canopy has a large area of clear glazing, so from the outside practically the whole of it is seen. The ejection seat is the largest and most complex piece of equipment there.
The set brings an ejection seat for the Rafale in 1:32 scale as a replacement for the part from the kit. In a large scale the difference shows: the seat has an intricate structure, rests, control handles and a great many small shapes that are hard to render in a single piece of plastic. The range of the set and any additions to it are given by the manufacturer's instructions.
The part is not of polystyrene and ordinary plastic glue has no effect on it, so use cyanoacrylate glue. Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder carefully, so that you do not lose the fine edges. Wash and degrease the seat before painting, otherwise the paint holds badly. It pays to paint and finish it away from the model and to set it into the cockpit only at the end. First try dry whether it fits the cockpit tub of your kit, as any play is easier to tune before painting than after it.
What is supplied is a set with an ejection seat in 1:32 scale. The kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
