An accessory set for a model of the carrier fighter F-14A Tomcat in 1:32 scale. The extent of the parts and what they are for are given in the maker's instructions.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-14 Tomcat was an American carrier fighter which came into being for service on aircraft carriers and was to protect the fleet at long range. Its recognition feature is the variable-geometry wing: on take-off and landing it spreads out so that the aircraft can cope with low speed, and as the speed rises it sweeps back. The crew was made up of two airmen, a pilot and a weapon systems officer seated behind him, because working with the radar and the guided armament was too much for one person. The A version was the first production form of the type and served with the navy for most of its career.
It is an accessory set for a model of the F-14A in 1:32 scale, that is in a large scale where every detail shows on a finished piece. Which part of the aircraft the set replaces or complements and which kit it is built for can be found in the maker's instructions.
Before you cut anything into the kit, dry-fit the parts and compare them with what they are to replace. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder carefully, so that the mating surface stays flat. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts: if they are not of polystyrene, a cement for plastic models will not bond them and you will reach for cyanoacrylate. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the coat will not take well.
The set is for modelers who want to take a large model further than the boxed form reaches. The kit of the aircraft, paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
