A photo-etched set from the Czech maker Eduard intended for detailing the outer surface of the model of the Grumman F-14D Tomcat carrier fighter in 1:32 scale. The thin metal parts replace and complete the features on the surface of the airframe that injection-molded plastic cannot capture finely enough. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory for a plastic kit.
The set refines the exterior of the model, for example fine covers, grilles, panels, sensors and other small external features. The result is a more faithful and more three-dimensional surface on a modern jet, which shows to advantage once painted.
The Grumman F-14 Tomcat was an American twin-engine carrier fighter with a variable-sweep wing. The F-14D version was the most modern variant, with more powerful engines and upgraded avionics, operated by the US Navy.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife, shape the bends with a bending tool or a ruler and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or with an adhesive made for photo-etch. Degrease the surface before gluing and, once a primer has been laid down, paint the parts together with the model.
This is an add-on photo-etched set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
