A masking set for the canopy of the Phantom F-4E and F-4EJ in 1:32 scale defines the frames for spraying in paint. The set is intended for the Tamiya kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set of pieces follows the layout of the frames on the canopy of the gun-armed version of the Phantom exactly. It defines the clear area, so the paint stays only where it belongs and the frame gets sharp edges without a wavering line from a brush. The designation of the kit the shapes are cut for is part of the name. It is based on the dimensions of the Tamiya kit.
The F-4E brought what the crews of the earlier versions had missed most: a built-in six-barrel rotary cannon in a lengthened, narrowed nose. Because of it a smaller radar had to be used and another fuel tank was added to the fuselage. Later machines also received slats on the wing leading edge, which markedly improved agility in a turn. The F-4EJ version was built under license in Japan for the Air Self-Defense Force there and in its later upgraded form served longer than most other Phantoms in the world.
First free the clear part of grease from your fingers, otherwise the pieces will not hold. Seat them working from the straight sections toward the curves and press the edges down with a blunt tip. Spray square to the surface and thinly, because a heavy coat likes to flake away along with the edge of the frame when the mask comes off.
