This detail set enriches the pilot's compartment of a model of the carrier-based Vought F-8 Crusader fighter aircraft in the E and H versions in 1:32 scale. It is a resin accessory intended for experienced modelers, not a stand-alone aircraft model. The manufacturer is the Czech company Aires, which specializes in finely cast resin detail sets. The set replaces the simplified cockpit from a base kit with a more faithful execution with a worked-out instrument panel, side panels and seat.
The Vought F-8 Crusader was an American single-seat carrier-based supersonic fighter aircraft with one jet engine and a characteristic variable-incidence wing, which eased landing on the deck of an aircraft carrier. It served from the end of the fifties and became famous as one of the last fighter aircraft with dominant cannon armament. The F-8E and F-8H versions were among the widespread service variants.
First wash the remains of the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Glue the parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Before closing the fuselage, check the fit with the particular kit dry.
