This is not a model and not a resin part but a set of interior elements printed in a 3D texture onto decal paper. The panel and the consoles are complete in color including the lettering and they are applied to the model as a wet decal. Red Fox Studio offers several variants under the same name differing only in the target kit — this one is cut for the Revell kit.
The Super Hornet is a typical representative of the modern glass cockpit. Round analog instruments have almost disappeared from it and been replaced by large-area multi-function displays, completed by a data entry panel under the head-up display. The side consoles carry mainly rows of buttons, switches and lighted fields. It is exactly this kind of content that paints extremely badly — screens are supposed to be an even surface with fine graphics, and a hand brush breaks that up. A printed panel is clearly at an advantage here.
Once the decals have dried, coat the interior so that the elements blend in with the surrounding paint and do not peel off. Keep the cockpit matte, but the surfaces of the displays deserve different treatment: it is worth applying satin or gloss to them in spots so that they look like glass and reflect the light. Apply the varnish in thin coats from a greater distance — a heavy coat will dissolve the thin decal paper or knock back its color.
