This is a single-purpose add-on part in resin of the kind the Quickboost brand offers under the heading of the Aires group. The philosophy of the line is simple: swap one particular element for a more faithfully rendered one and leave the rest of the model unchanged. The epithet in the name specifies that the part captures the filter in the open state, while its counterpart in the closed position is offered separately.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 differed from the slim inline fighters of its day in its radial engine and its exceptionally wide landing gear track, which made operating from field strips easier. When it was deployed in southern areas it turned out that the fine sand thrown up by the propeller destroyed the engine from within. The solution was a filter ahead of the intake, which cleared the coarse particles out of the induction air.
