This is not a kit and not a complete photo-etched set. The package contains one finished part, an instrument panel for the Fokker Dr.I triplane in 1:32. The panel is etched from thin sheet and printed in color directly at the manufacturer, so it is simply glued into a model. On an aircraft from the end of the First World War, whose cockpit is completely open, the instrument panel is permanently in view on a finished model and its quality greatly affects the overall impression.
The Fokker Dr.I was a single-seat fighter triplane used at the close of the First World War. Three lifting surfaces one above the other shortened the span and improved agility; the structure was of wood and fabric with a steel fuselage frame. It was powered by a rotary engine, in which the whole cylinder block turned together with the propeller. The cockpit equipment was very plain by the standards of the day, the pilot had only a few instruments and they were concentrated on the front bulkhead.
Remove the original plastic panel from the model, or sand it so that the etched part seats at the correct depth. With an open cockpit it is advisable to have the interior finished and painted before the panel is fitted, so that the printing is not damaged during the further work. Separate the part with a sharp cutter and level the edges with a file. Glue with a minimum of cyanoacrylate applied with a pin. The printing is not oversprayed. The dial glasses are suggested by a drop of gloss varnish on the individual dials.
This is an accessory, not a model of the aircraft. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
