This set is not a model of an aircraft but an extensive aftermarket upgrade for a plastic kit. It contains cast resin parts complemented by photo-etch and replaces several simplified assemblies from the box at once. The set is intended for the injection-molded model of the Focke-Wulf Fw 190D in 1:32 scale (the kit from Hasegawa).
The Fw 190D-9 Dora was the late version of the famous fighter, with an inverted V12 Junkers Jumo 213 engine. The comprehensive detail set refines the key areas of the model, typically the pilot cockpit, the landing gear bays and other structure that the plastic parts only suggest. That gives the model a markedly higher level of fidelity than straight from the box.
First separate the parts from the casting blocks with a fine saw or a cutter and wash off the mold release residue. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Given the extent of the set, count on careful alignment and reworking of the plastic parts of the kit; protect your airways when sanding resin. The details come out best after painting with an airbrush and picking them out with a wash.
This is an add-on set, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
