A figure of a German fighter pilot of the First World War in 1:32 scale. It will complement a biplane model or a display scene on its own.
Responsibility details are not available.
The figure in 1:32 scale shows a German fighter pilot of the First World War period. Airmen sat in open cockpits in those days, so their kit included a leather coat or overall, a leather helmet, goggles and a scarf. It is exactly these elements that give the figure a silhouette the viewer recognizes at first glance, even without knowing the particular type of aircraft.
A figure in this scale suits biplanes of the First World War, a display base on its own and a smaller scene by a hangar. Next to a model it gives the viewer a sense of scale and brings an otherwise static display case to life. A pair of figures in different poses looks more natural than one figure in the middle of an open area.
Look over all the surfaces before gluing and cut the surplus material and the traces of manufacture away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part; level the rest with fine sandpaper. Then wash and degrease the surface, otherwise the primer holds unreliably. Leather and fabric are told apart mainly by the degree of sheen, that is a flat shade on the overall and a soft satin on the leather parts. The face and hands are worth shading with glazes, because in 1:32 scale the skin shows well and a flat color would let the figure down. A careful dry brush with paint a shade lighter will bring out the edge of the collar, the scarf and the edges of the leather clothing. The specific assembly procedure is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Paints, glue and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
