This detail set in 1:72 scale from the Aires brand is not a stand-alone model, but an addition for refining the tail of the twin-engined F-15E Strike Eagle. It holds a pair of resin engine exhaust nozzles with a faithful inner as well as outer structure, which injection-molded plastic in this scale usually cannot manage.
The F-15E Strike Eagle is an American two-seat multirole combat aircraft meant for strike missions as well as air combat. It comes from the design of the F-15 fighter, but is strengthened to carry a great deal of armament and adapted to low-level flight. The exhaust nozzles of both engines are a visually striking feature of the tail area.
Wash the resin parts free of mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The petals of the nozzles show at their best after painting in metallic shades and gentle highlighting with a wash. Protect your airways when sanding resin.
