1:32 Hawker Tempest Mk.V (For Revell Kits)

Hawker Tempest Mk.V: decals in 1:32 scale

A set of decals from the maker Red Fox Studio for a model of the British Hawker Tempest Mk.V fighter in 1:32 scale. It is not a kit and not a finished model, but an accessory that raises the level of detail of a model already built. The particular contents of the set are stated on the box. The set is intended for the Revell kits.

The real subject

The Tempest Mk.V came into being as the development continuation of the Hawker Typhoon. It received a new wing with a thinner section, a lengthened fuselage and a Napier Sabre H-24 engine. Its armament was four 20 mm Hispano cannons. It served with the Royal Air Force from 1944 and was among the fastest piston-engine aircraft at low level. It became famous hunting V-1 flying bombs over southern England and was later used chiefly against ground targets over northwestern Europe.

Usage tips

• Level and polish the surface you will be working on in advance, because the result looks best on a smooth, glossy base.
• Work with tweezers and a soft brush, because the individual pieces are tiny.
• Proceed according to the manufacturer's instructions supplied with the set.
• Let the finished surface dry through thoroughly before you go on to the next steps of the build.

Who the set is for

• Modelers who want to take the detail of a large scale beyond the ordinary level.
• Builders of British Second World War fighters in 1:32 scale.
• Collectors who finish a model for a display case and care about the close-up view.
• Anyone who wants to make work with detail easier than hand-painting the small items.
