A set of accurate self-adhesive masks of thin washi (kabuki) tape from New Ware. They serve for quick, clean masking of the cabin glazing, the wheels and other details of the model when spraying with an airbrush or with a brush. The material follows the shape well, holds along the edge of the engraved lines and leaves no adhesive residue once peeled off. The EXPERT level is the most complete variant: besides masking the cabin on the outside it also takes in the inner faces of the glazing and the small features.

The real subject

The Cessna L-19, later redesignated O-1 Bird Dog, was an American single-engine high-wing monoplane for observation, liaison and artillery fire direction. It served from the 1950s and made its mark in the Korean War and the Vietnam War as a light reconnaissance and forward air control aircraft.

Use

• Clean and degrease the glazing, move the mask with tweezers and press it down along the engraved edges.
• Spray in thin coats so that the paint does not bleed under the edge of the mask.
• Peel the masks off shortly after the paint has dried, while the coat is still flexible.
• Suitable for sharp color transitions on the cabin frames and on small clear areas.
