Eduard 1:32 Lancaster B Mk.I seatbelts STEEL are color-printed steel photo-etched seat belts for the seats in the Lancaster bomber model.

A small but very noticeable detail set: color-printed seat belts for the seats of the model of the Avro Lancaster B Mk.I bomber in 1:32 scale. The STEEL designation means that the photo-etched parts are made of steel instead of the usual brass sheet. A steel fret holds its shape once bent, so the belts can be draped convincingly over a seat and left hanging loose without springing back. The set is an accessory for a plastic model, not a kit.
Seat belts belong among the features that catch the eye at once on a finished model: an empty seat with no belts looks unfinished, whereas belts left lying naturally give an interior both scale and life. On a large bomber with a glazed cockpit in 1:32 scale you really can see into the interior, so the detail pays off.
Cut the parts out on a hard surface with a sharp scalpel. Steel is stiffer than brass, so make the folds gradually and preferably in several stages. Bend the buckles and clasps with smooth-jawed tweezers so that they do not scratch the printing. They are glued with a small drop of cyanoacrylate glue or with a glue for photo-etched parts, as solvent-based glues would wipe the color off. Shape the belts dry on the seat first and only then glue them. A light touch of a dark wash along the edges helps at the end.
The set is an accessory for a plastic model, not a kit in its own right. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
