New Ware masking set – IAR-80A / 81C / 81 BoPi, 1:32 (BASIC level)

A set of precisely cut self-adhesive masks in fine kabuki (washi) tape from the Czech maker New Ware, intended for large plastic models of the Romanian IAR-80/81 fighter in 1:32 scale. The masks give a clean separation of colors on the cockpit glazing with no tedious laying of tape.

What the BASIC level contains

The BASIC level covers the outer faces of the cockpit glazing, any further clear parts and the landing gear wheels. An ideal basis for a fast, clean paint job.

The real subject

The IAR-80 was a single-seat fighter of Romanian manufacture from the Second World War, used on the Eastern Front. The IAR-81 version also served as a fighter-bomber, and the BoPi designation refers to the variant for dive bombing.

Use and tips

• Apply them to a clean, degreased surface and press the edges down.
• In the larger 1:32 scale the masks are easy to place.
• After painting, lift the masks off carefully and in good time.
