The formed canopy 1:72 F9F Panther (open-closed) from Rob Taurus, which as the name says allows for both the open and the closed position of the hood.
Responsibility details are not available.
Clear cockpit glazing for the Grumman F9F Panther carrier fighter in 1:72 scale. The qualifier in the name refers to the fact that the part is adapted for two different arrangements on the model: with the sliding section drawn forward, or slid back over the fuselage spine.
The Grumman F9F Panther was a straight-wing single-seat fighter that became the mainstay of US Navy and Marine Corps aviation in the early 1950s. Besides air combat it flew a large share of its sorties against ground targets; it carried bombs and unguided rockets, and its rugged structure took hits from anti-aircraft fire. For modelers it is also of interest because in civilian life it was flown by a writer and pilot whose books went on to make the Korean War widely known.
Dividing the canopy into the fixed and the sliding section is best done with a fine saw or by drawing a scribing tool repeatedly along a marked line. The cut is then trued with a file and the edges are sanded so that they do not show up white. Bond the slid-back section with PVA glue for clear parts, which dries without haze and allows a small correction of position.
The delivery covers only the clear part of the cockpit; you will not find the aircraft itself or paints in it.
