This product is not a kit. It is a set of interior elements printed in a 3D texture onto decal paper: the instrument panel and other parts of the cabin of the Eduard kit arrive complete in color and are applied as a wet decal. You save yourself both painting tiny dials and gluing photo-etched parts.
The Taifun is an all-metal touring and liaison aircraft with a roomy cabin for several people and with large side windows. That puts it in a completely different position from fighters: the interior is not hidden under a narrow canopy but lit from every side. The instrument panel has a civilian character — clear round instruments with no gunsight and no military equipment — and beside it the seats, the floor and the wall trim are visible too. On this subject an unfinished interior cannot be hidden.
When all the elements are in place and dry, the final varnish comes next. It does two things: it evens out the gloss of the decals against the surrounding paint, so they stop looking like stuck-on paper, and at the same time it protects them from abrasion during further handling of the model. A matte or slightly satin varnish suits a cabin, applied in two thin coats. Avoid one heavy wet coat — on thin decal paper it can cause wrinkling. Before you close the fuselage up and fit the glazing, let the varnish cure completely; through the large windows every fingerprint on soft varnish would show.
The set is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a model. Paints, varnishes and glue are not included in the package. Check before ordering that it matches the kit you are building.
