This detail set from the Czech manufacturer Quickboost brings replacement resin exhaust stacks for models of the late variants of the Messerschmitt Bf-109G-10 and K-4 fighter in 1:32 scale. The castings have convincingly open (hollow) ends, which are hard to achieve in injection-molded plastic, and they replace the simplified parts from the basic kit. It is not a model of an aircraft but an accessory for improving one.
The Bf 109G-10 and K-4 were among the highest-performing production versions of the legendary German fighter at the end of the Second World War. The side exhausts of the DB 605 engine are a prominent detail of the fuselage and a convincing rendering of them brings a model noticeably to life.
Separate the parts from the casting block and wash off any resin residue. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate); wear respiratory protection while sanding. The exhausts come into their own with a combination of metallic shades, rust and heat discoloration; a matte layer of pigment gives them a burnt look.
Supplied as an unassembled and unpainted resin detail set. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
