This resin set from the manufacturer Quickboost contains protective covers (FOD covers) for models of the MiG-21 fighter in 1:32 scale. The covers fit over the air intake and the exhaust nozzle and prevent foreign objects from getting into the engine on the ground. At the same time the accessory hides any imperfections inside the ducts. It is an accessory, not a kit.
The MiG-21 was a Soviet supersonic fighter, one of the most widespread jet fighters in history. On the ground its intakes and nozzles were routinely closed off with protective covers, which on a model are a striking and colorful feature.
Wash the resin parts to remove the mold release agent and cut off the casting blocks. The covers are usually sprayed in a bright warning color (often red) with Remove Before Flight lettering; the tether straps can be picked out with a dark wash. They are placed on a finished model without gluing, or fixed only at a point or two.
This is a detail accessory, not a model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
