This is an accessory, not a kit. The set contains colored three-dimensional interior elements printed on decal paper, which are applied to the cockpit of a model as a wet decal. Unlike a flat decal they have real thickness, so the panels, instruments, levers and buckles stand out from the surface and are already painted. The maker is Quinta Studio, and the set is listed for the cockpit of a model of the MiG-29SMT fighter in the large 1:32 scale.
The MiG-29SMT is an upgraded version of the single-seat MiG-29 frontal fighter. Its recognition feature is the considerably enlarged dorsal hump carrying a greater fuel load and new avionics. The cockpit of the upgraded version differs most from the original: the classic round dials gave way to multifunction displays, that is exactly the elements that are very hard to paint in a small scale and where a colored 3D decal makes the most sense.
Finish the cockpit and spray it with the base interior color. The surface has to be smooth and degreased; on a rough base the element will not seat and air will be left under the film. Dip the cut-out element in lukewarm water, let the film release, move it into place with a soft brush, press it down with a cotton swab and blot off the excess water. Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer at all, not even diluted — they attack the printed resin and distort the relief of the three-dimensional element. Once dry, unify the surface with a matte coat; the display screens, on the other hand, come out well under a thin layer of gloss coat or a drop of clear resin.
The set is an accessory and does not make up a model on its own. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
