Supplementary wheels for finishing a car model off, which replace the rims from the basic box with a more striking and easily recognizable design. The goods are acquired to go with a part-built project; this is not a model of a vehicle in its own right.
BBS is a German wheel brand whose name is firmly tied to motorsport and to the premium part of the market. The RG line belongs among its light sporting designs, and the RG-R form grows out of it in a guise tuned for fast road cars. A dense spoke pattern converging toward the center is characteristic of wheels of this type, which gives a rim a technical and at the same time timeless look. That is exactly why it appears on German sporting cars and on Japanese conversions where the owner was looking for a European character.
A dense spoke pattern is hard to paint with a brush, because little room is left between the spokes and the strokes build up in the valleys. So use spraying in two thin coats and rotate the part so that the paint gets through the gaps too. Once dry, bring out the shadows between the spokes with a dark shade that can be wiped off, which runs by itself into places a brush does not reach. The center of the wheel is a rewarding place for a small marking of the center cap.
