Copper State Models 1:32 Nieuport XVII Late is a detailed injection-molded kit of the French First World War biplane fighter with photo-etched parts and good decals.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in the large 1:32 scale from Copper State Models represents the late production form of the Nieuport 17 fighter. The set boasts finely rendered parts, a well-worked cockpit, photo-etched metal additions and well-printed decals for several color versions. The large scale lets the texture of the covering and the details of the engine and the armament stand out.
The Nieuport 17 was one of the key French biplane fighters of the First World War. Compared with the earlier types it received a more powerful rotary engine and a larger wing area, which gave it an excellent rate of climb and agility. The machine was used not only by French squadrons but also by airmen of other Allied countries and became a favorite of a number of the aces of the day.
Given the number of fine parts and the photo-etch, calm and experience with larger biplanes are called for. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue and the plastic parts with liquid cement. Bring out the covering with subtle shading, and the wooden items come out best with glaze layers. On a biplane, count on the bracing wires, which give the finished model its realism.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
