An Eduard photo-etched set for the interior of a model of the P-51D Mustang fighter in the late version, 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
In 1:32 scale the whole cockpit is visible under the large clear canopy, so every simplification shows. Etched metal can be as thin as a plastic part never will be: the seat belts hold their shape even after bending, the side panels get genuinely raised elements and the frame of the instrument panel stops being a solid surface. The set is intended for the late version of the P-51D.
The photo-etched fret is drawn for a particular kit, so before buying and before gluing check in the maker's instructions which model and which version it fits. The interior is moreover fitted in the first steps of the build, before the fuselage halves are joined; after that you cannot get inside and any change means taking finished work apart.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not by breaking them out with your fingers. Make the bends over the edge of a bender or between two blades, so that the edge comes out sharp along its whole length. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue applied in a tiny amount, for example from the tip of a toothpick; cement for polystyrene will not bond metal. Wash and degrease the photo-etch before painting and start with a primer, otherwise the coat flakes off the smooth surface. Small levers and handles are easier to paint while still on the fret and to cut off at the very end.
A photo-etched set is supplied. The kit, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
