Eduard 1:32 P-51D gun bay (late form) is a photo-etched set for refining the wing gun bay of a model of the P-51D Mustang fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a photo-etched detail set from the Czech maker Eduard in 1:32 scale. It holds parts for a faithful rendering of the wing gun bay of the P-51D Mustang fighter in its late form, that is the space with the machine guns and the ammunition belts. It is not an airplane model but an accessory for an open presentation of the armament.
The North American P-51D Mustang was an American single-seat fighter of the Second World War with a bubble canopy and a Packard Merlin V12 engine. In its wings it carried a battery of heavy machine guns, and their bays are often shown open on preserved aircraft and on models that make the most of them.
The photo-etched parts are separated from the fret, formed with tweezers and glued with super glue. The bay is built with the panels off, so that the inner structure and the armament are visible. Careful painting and discreet weathering that brings out the panel lines and the signs of use are recommended.
This is a photo-etched accessory for refining a model, not a stand-alone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
