The injection-molded plastic kit RAF Mustang III (P-51B/C) in 1:32 scale from Trumpeter — a large, detailed model of the Allied long-range fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the North American Mustang III fighter in British form, corresponding to the American P-51B and P-51C versions, in 1:32 scale from Trumpeter. The large, detailed model offers a richly equipped fuselage and cockpit, an engine bay, separate control surfaces, detail in the gun bays and external stores including drop tanks. The set usually contains photo-etched parts as well.
Mustang III was the British designation for the early razorback P-51B/C versions, with a spine running smoothly into the canopy. The key change from the first Mustangs was the British Rolls-Royce Merlin engine (built in the United States as the Packard), which gave the machines excellent performance at high altitude. With drop tanks the Mustang became the long-range escort fighter for bombers over Europe. British machines often received the bulged Malcolm hood canopy for better visibility.
Finish the cockpit, the engine and the gun bays first, and only then close up the fuselage and the wing. Protect the glazing with masks. Spray a primer base and then the camouflage scheme; bring out the panels with a wash and unify the metal surfaces with subtle shading. Add the drop tanks and the markings according to the decal sheet.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
