A resin cockpit set in 1:32 scale from the Czech manufacturer Aires. The set corresponds to the cockpit of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk. V fighter and serves to raise the detail of a plastic kit. This is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory that replaces the cockpit tub of a kit with more faithfully worked parts: the instrument panel, the tubular structure, the seat and the control stick. The package is usually complemented by fine photo-etched components including the belts.
The Spitfire was a British single-seat fighter aircraft of the Second World War with a characteristic elliptical wing. The Mk. V version was one of the most widespread and was powered by the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. The cockpit with its tubular frame and typical arrangement of the instruments is a rewarding place for raising the detail.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and clean up the surfaces with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Before gluing it in, check the fit with the particular kit. Spray the interior with a base color first and bring out the details with a dark wash and a dry brush.
The resin set is an accessory for a plastic kit, which is not part of the package. Glue, paints and the model itself are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
