Art Scale 1:32 Spitfire Mk.Ia (mid) is a self-adhesive masking set for the glazing and other areas of the Kotare Spitfire kit in 1:32 scale, in the single-sided form.

This is a masking set, not a kit. The pre-cut self-adhesive masks are stuck onto the cockpit glazing and serve to keep the framing crisp while spraying and the surface of the glass clean. The name gives the single-sided form, that is masks for one side of the glazing. The manufacturer also makes a double-sided variant for the same type, which is more extensive. The express fit designation in the name refers to the parts being prepared for quick application without cutting.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Ia is an early production version of the British fighter with the Merlin engine and the elliptical wing. The mid epithet in the name refers to the middle production batch, because the early Spitfires differed in details of the cockpit and the equipment during production. It is precisely because of that that it matters for masks to fit exactly the shape of the glazing of the Kotare kit.
Wash and degrease the glazing before sticking the masks on, and do not touch it with your fingers. Transfer the masks with tweezers and press them down all round with a pointed tool, especially in the corners. First spray a thin coat of the interior color to seal the edges, and only then the exterior color. Spray several thin coats, as a thick layer will creep under the mask and leave a step. Lift the mask while the paint is fresh, again with tweezers and with an oblique pull.
The set contains masking parts only. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
