This is a photo-etched detail set, not a kit of the tank. What it holds is brass parts meant to replace and supplement plastic features on a model of the Israeli main battle tank. Sets of this type usually also include the chains that on the real vehicle form the protection of the turret rear. Voyager Model is a Chinese manufacturer of photo-etched aftermarket sets for military subjects in 1:35 scale. The set is tied by design to the Hobby Boss 82476 kit.
The Merkava is an Israeli main battle tank with an unusual layout, in which the engine is placed at the front and the rear serves, among other things, for the crew to board. The Mk.3 version brought a 120 mm gun, a more powerful powerpack and modular armor. The modification for operations in low-intensity conflicts includes, among other things, a hanging curtain of chains with weights at the turret rear, which is meant to disrupt the impact of anti-tank grenades before they reach the armor proper. It is precisely these thin and irregular features that are reproduced in plastic only with difficulty.
The smallest photo-etched parts and the chains call for calm and order on the bench. Work over a light-colored surface with a raised edge, cut the parts off over a dish and use tweezers with fine, slightly rounded tips, so that a part does not fly off. Dispense the cyanoacrylate as a drop on a plate and apply it with the tip of a pin, never straight from the bottle. Hang a chain dry first, check how it falls and only then fix its mountings. Excess glue in a thin film dries faster than a large drop and does not flood the surrounding detail.
