The 1:32 Stanley Yankee ejection seat, naval version, is a resin add-on set in 1:32 scale from the manufacturer Aires that replaces the seat from a plastic kit.

This is not an aircraft model but a single part of one. The set holds a resin replacement for the ejection seat in the version for naval aviation. The seat is the first thing a viewer sees on looking into an open cockpit, and at the same time one of the worst molded parts of an ordinary plastic kit. The manufacturer also makes other versions of this seat under a different set designation, so go by the exact designation of the variant.
An ejection seat is a dense tangle of tubes, straps, levers and containers underneath them. An injection mold simplifies that into a smooth shell with the straps suggested on it, because otherwise it could not be opened. A resin casting, by contrast, captures the open gaps under the frame, the pressings on the shell and the individual items of survival equipment. On a model in 1:32 scale the difference is so marked that swapping the seat alone moves the look of the cockpit further than a whole row of other reworkings.
Separate the seat from the casting block with a fine-toothed saw and never snap the thin arms of the frame off, because resin cracks. Make the cut with some margin and take the rest back with abrasive paper, so that you do not sand the shape of the seat pan away. Before painting, wash the part in warm soapy water because of the mold release agent from the mold and let it dry completely. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue. You can manage the painting with a brush: the shell dark, the padding and the straps in different tones, and at the end a dry brush on the edges and a fine wash into the recesses. Seat the part only after the cockpit is painted, otherwise it is hard to reach afterward. Sand the resin with a respirator on and preferably wet.
The set is a resin accessory, not a kit. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
