The Gloster Gladiator is a British single-seat fighter biplane of the second half of the thirties, which differs from older biplanes in having an enclosed pilot's cockpit. In Swedish service it carried the designation J 8. The Swedish machines differed from the British ones in details of equipment and in the rendition of certain parts of the airframe, and that is exactly what the conversion set deals with.
The set is intended for rebuilding the Gloster Gladiator Mk.II kit from ICM in 1:32 scale into the form of the Swedish J8. It therefore replaces selected parts of the kit and adds elements that are not in it. Which parts the package contains and in what order they are worked in is given in the manufacturer's instructions. Without the corresponding kit you will not make use of the set, so check before buying that you have it.
The parts are not polystyrene, so cement for plastic models has no effect on them. Join them with cyanoacrylate glue; on larger mating surfaces epoxy with a longer setting time helps. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the rest off, so as not to damage the shape. Before painting, wash and degrease the parts and let them dry. With a biplane it pays to paint and varnish as many parts as possible before assembly, because once the upper wing is hung the lower surfaces are hard to reach.
The package contains a conversion set of parts. The aircraft kit, the paints, the glue and the thinner are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
