A resin detail set from the brand CMK in 1:32 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that replaces the plastic parts of the wing leading edges with inset resin segments carrying faithfully rendered barrels of the 20 mm Hispano cannons. The set is intended for models of the Hawker Tempest fighter in the Mk.II, V Series 2 and Mk.VI versions.
The Hawker Tempest was a British fighter of the close of the Second World War, developed from the Typhoon with a new thin laminar-flow wing. The Mk.V and Mk.VI versions were powered by the Napier Sabre engine with its cylinders arranged in an H, while the Mk.II was given the Bristol Centaurus radial. The main armament was four wing-mounted 20 mm Hispano cannons; on later machines the barrels were shorter and recessed into the leading edge.
First wash the mold release residue off the parts, cut off the casting blocks carefully and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Protect your airways while sanding. The muzzles of the barrels look best once blackened and lightly accentuated.
The set contains resin parts and serves as an accessory for a kit. The basic model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
