It is not a kit but a sheet of decals for a model of the two-seat Su-27UBM-1 in 1:32 scale in Ukrainian markings. Accessory decals are used where a modeler wants markings other than those the base kit offers, or where the original sheet has yellowed or fallen apart. Check the number of schemes and the actual machines depicted on the packaging of the sheet.
The Su-27UB is the two-seat trainer and combat version of the heavy Su-27 fighter, which NATO designates with the code Flanker-C. The designation UBM-1 belongs to a modernized Ukrainian reworking of this two-seat machine with revised equipment. Two cockpits set one behind the other, a strongly profiled fuselage and a pair of engines in the tail are among the most characteristic features of the type; at the large 1:32 scale even the small technical markings these sheets concentrate on come into their own.
Decals always belong on a glossy base. On matte paint a white haze stays under the film of the decal. The procedure: paint, gloss varnish, decals, varnish again and only at the end a matte or semi-gloss coat. Cut the decal off as close to the printing as possible, soak it in warm water for a few seconds and let it rest on a paper towel until it releases. Slide it onto the model with a brush and blot the excess water away. Over rivets and engraved lines use a softener, so that the decal draws down to the surface and does not form silvery bubbles.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The model itself and the paints are not included in the package.
