Artwox Model, a 1:400 wooden deck for a model of the French battleship Jean Bart. An accessory that gives the deck the grain of planks instead of a smooth surface. The covering is cut to the decks of the Heller 81077 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item from Artwox Model serves to cover the decks on a finished model of the French battleship Jean Bart. You will not find the model itself in the package; it is an enhancing accessory for modelers for whom a smooth area on the main deck is not enough. The outline of the parts matches the decks of the Heller 81077 kit.
The Jean Bart was the second unit of the Richelieu class and in June 1940 she left the yard in a state far from complete. She reached Casablanca with a single operational gun turret, and it was from that turret that two years later she answered the fire of the American force during the landings in North Africa. She was finished only in the 1950s, by then with heavy antiaircraft armament, and she became the last battleship in the service of the French Navy.
French ships have a great many superstructure items on their decks, so it pays to work slowly and to measure the position against fixed points. Do not leave any residue of glue or paint from an earlier stage of the build on the surface. Once it is fitted, the area can be fine-tuned with pigments to create the impression of worn wood; wipe the surplus pigment away with a soft brush.
