A group item of figures in 1:32 scale from the brand Black Dog, carried as set number two. It follows on from the older set on the same theme and adds the newer poses from the continuation of the sub-line to it.
As soon as more than one figure stands in a scene, the arrangement starts to decide. The rule of the triangle has proved itself: do not place the figures in a row or at regular gaps, but so that gaps of differing size arise between them and one of them is distinctly closer to the viewer. The composition gains depth from that and the scene reads from a distance too, which matters in a display case.
A group of period figures calls for surroundings where their presence has a reason: a hangar with the doors open, the cargo area of a truck, a makeshift stage or a nook by a workshop wall. Where the figures stand just so on an open area, the composition loses its sense. It also pays to match the surface underneath - a uniform concrete slab or boards will hold the group together better than varied terrain. Then leave the color differences between the figures' clothing bold, so that they are told apart at first glance.
