This is not a kit but a set of water-slide decals with which you finish an already built model. According to the name it is a complete set covering one and a half sheets, which is more area than usual for decal sets of this format. The particular mix of markings is given on the instruction leaflet supplied with the sheet.
The Vought F4U Corsair was an American carrier-borne fighter, recognizable by its inverted gull wing, long nose and massive radial engine. The bent wing came about from the need to fit a large propeller and at the same time keep the landing gear legs short. The Corsair made its name mainly in the Pacific theater and was used by American and Allied units, with individual machines differing in paint shades, national insignia and personal markings; that is exactly why so many separate decal sets are issued for it.
Always apply the decals onto a smooth, glossy base, otherwise a matte silvery veil stays under the film. Cut the motif out as closely as possible, soak it in clean lukewarm water for a few seconds only and let it release the adhesive on the paper; only then slide it onto the model. Fine-tune the position with a brush and a drop of water and blot the excess with a paper tissue. On engraved lines and on the curves of the fuselage a decal softener applied from above helps; do not move the decal until it has dried. Once dry, overcoat the surface so that the edges of the film disappear, and finally unify everything with a matte or semi-gloss coat as the subject requires.
The set contains decals only. The model, paints, clear coats and softeners are not included in the package.
