1:35 Soviet + German tank crew close fight N°1 is a Black Dog resin figure set whose name sets a Soviet and a German tank crewman against each other in a close fight.
Responsibility details are not available.
A figure set in resin from Black Dog. The name gives both the Soviet and the German side and the mark of the first version, so it is one of two separately sold views with the same subject. The figures are conceived as opponents in direct contact, that is very close together.
A man-to-man fight is the most demanding figural subject to arrange. The figures touch, so both the joint and the center of gravity have to be right: a leaning body needs support, or the whole view visually falls over. It pays to put the arrangement together dry first, photograph it from several sides and only then glue. The view itself benefits from a confined space, the side of a hull, a ditch beside a road or the rubble of a wall framing the movement.
Clean the mold release agent off the castings, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and level the mating surfaces on abrasive paper laid on a board so that they stay flat. Join the figures with cyanoacrylate glue; with touching hands a short pin of thin wire helps. When painting, set the two uniforms apart mainly by shade rather than by the strength of the contrast, and apply the dirt and dust last; a unifying layer of earthy pigment links the figures to the groundwork better than any detail.
