Palm leaves - type II., green are a Model Scene scenery material for 1:32 and 1:35 scale — individual leaves of a different shape from type I., for building a palm or as tropical greenery.
Responsibility details are not available.
The second shape type of palm leaves from the Czech manufacturer Model Scene for the large 1:32 and 1:35 scales. As with type I., it is not a finished tree but separate leaves to be glued onto a trunk of your own making or used loose in a tropical scene. The different cut of the leaf makes it possible to build palms of differing appearance side by side, so a grove does not read as a row of identical copies.
The basic use is building a crown: the leaves are glued from the top of the trunk downward so that they overlap and create a full, slightly irregular fan. By combining type I. and type II. in one scene you gain the natural variety of species that really does prevail in tropical landscape. The leaves can also be used on their own as low growth, cover around structures or greenery in undergrowth.
Bend the flat leaves before gluing or draw them over an edge — a natural curve is what tells a credible palm from a paper silhouette. Cyanoacrylate holds immediately and lets you hold a leaf at the angle you want until it sets. The coloring can be fine-tuned with a darker wash to deepen the shadows or a light lighter overspray on the tips. For maximum credibility, add dry leaves under the crown — on real palms dead foliage hangs along the trunk practically always.
This is a scenery material for building dioramas, not a model kit. The trunk, the glue, the paints and the base board are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
