Self-adhesive grass tufts from the Wild Shapes range, 2 mm high in the shade of dry, faded grass.
Responsibility details are not available.
Low grass tufts two millimeters high in the shade of dry grass, that is in the faded yellowish tone of late summer and early autumn. The tufts are ready-made clumps of fibers on a backing sheet, which give a flat base height and direction. For stubble, field margins, embankments and the edges of farm tracks they are the quickest way to stop a scene looking like a bare board.
The underside is self-adhesive. Lift a tuft off the backing sheet with tweezers and press it onto a dry, clean surface; on loose scatter, add a drop of PVA glue (white glue). Lay them irregularly and in clumps with bare earth left between them, because evenly scattered tufts give the modeling away at first glance. Once stuck down, a tuft can be trimmed with scissors and thinned slightly, so that one package will produce growth of varying density and height.
Two millimeters correspond in 1:35 scale to about seven centimeters of real height and in 1:87 scale to roughly seventeen, where it is already properly tall grass. The faded tone goes with a summer and autumn scene, with parched earth and with dusty vehicles; next to richly green tufts it serves to suggest the places the water does not reach.
A base, terrain support, scatter and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
