A resin detail accessory in 1:48 scale from the Quickboost line of the Czech firm Aires. It is a set of air intakes for the British Fairey Gannet carrier-borne anti-submarine aircraft in the AS.1 and AS.4 versions. The casting brings deep, cleanly shaped mouths that plastic parts usually do not achieve.
The Fairey Gannet was a British carrier-borne anti-submarine aircraft with an unusual powerplant, a turboprop driving a set of contra-rotating propellers. The air intakes are among the characteristic features of the nose; a faithful, deep rendering of them markedly improves the overall impression of the model. The set replaces the corresponding kit parts.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and check the fit dry; sometimes the mating surfaces need slight sanding, with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The inside of the intakes is usually light, with the depth gently shaded.
A resin accessory, not a complete model. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package.
