A decal sheet in 1:48 scale with the markings of a Messerschmitt Bf 109G fighter fitted with the Naxos airborne detector.
Responsibility details are not available.
A separate decal sheet in 1:48 scale with the markings of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109G fighter, specifically as fitted with the Naxos airborne detector. It is not a kit or a photo-etched set: the decals are applied onto the finished paintwork of a built model.
The Bf 109G was the most numerous series of the German single-engine fighter of the Second World War, powered by a liquid-cooled Daimler-Benz twelve-cylinder engine. Naxos is the name of the airborne receiver listed under the designation FuG 350, with which German night fighters picked up the emissions of British airborne radars and homed in on them to find the bomber streams. On single-seat fighters the antenna of the receiver was usually hidden under a small fairing behind the cockpit, so the machine can be told from an ordinary day version by that very detail.
The decals belong on finished, dried paintwork, and on a smooth glossy base; on matte paint air gets caught under the film and silvering results. Trim the carrier film as close to the design as possible, blot the water away with a soft cloth after placing it and let it dry thoroughly. On broken surfaces a decal softener helps, as it pulls the film into the scribed lines. The finished markings are then unified with a final varnish in the degree of sheen you want.
A decal sheet is supplied. A kit, paints, varnish and a softener are not included, unless stated otherwise.
