Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker Kovozavody Prostejov representing the Japanese Kawasaki Otsu-1 reconnaissance biplane, which was a license-built version of the French Salmson Sal.2 A2. This Single Seat boxing covers the single-seat version. It is a typical short-run kit; the model is supplied unassembled and unpainted, with a decal sheet.
The Salmson Sal.2 A2 was a French reconnaissance and observation biplane of the First World War that proved itself thanks to a dependable radial engine and a good view from the cockpit. Japan adopted the type and built it under license at Kawasaki as the Otsu-1; it served for training, reconnaissance and liaison duties in the 1920s. Open cockpits, broad wings and richly rigged bracing are characteristic of the era.
On biplanes, pay attention to seating the upper wing and the struts correctly; a simple jig helps. Bond the plastic with thin cement and clean flash off the fine parts. After painting we recommend adding bracing wires from stretched sprue or thin filament. Apply the paints over a primer; the matte period shades come out well with an airbrush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
