A set of wet, that is waterslide, decals in 1:35 scale from Star Decals. It is not a kit but a standalone sheet of markings to round out your own model of the tank. The subject belongs to the French armored vehicles used in Africa.
The sheet is devoted to the Somua S 35 medium tank in the colors of the 12eme Régiment de Chasseurs d'Afrique, the 12th Regiment of Chasseurs d'Afrique. It holds national insignia, unit symbols and tactical markings matching this formation, so a particular machine can be reconstructed faithfully. The Somua S 35 was among the best French tanks of its day and its African service is a rewarding subject.
Lay the decals onto a smooth gloss varnish to prevent silvering. Dip the cut-out motif in lukewarm water for a few seconds and, once it has softened, slide it onto the surface. Decal softeners will help it bed into the detail. Finally even the surface out with a matte varnish, so that the marking blends with the color of the vehicle.
This is a standalone sheet of decals. The model, the paints and the varnish are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
