The real subject

The Panzer II was a German light tank that was originally to serve only as an interim solution until production of heavier machines got going. The war decided otherwise: in the campaigns in Poland and in France it was the most numerous German tank and carried the main weight of the first fighting. In the turret it had a 20mm automatic cannon and a machine gun, so it could not do much against armored targets, but it was fast and suited reconnaissance and escort work. The Ausf. A and B versions belong to the early production runs, and the name also specifies the early running gear by which these machines differ from the later ones.

What the sheet offers

Decals in 1:35 scale for the stated early versions of the Panzer II. Such a specification pays off with decals: markings changed in the course of the war, and a sheet cut for early machines matches a model from the first war years, not a vehicle from a later time. A breakdown of the elements and their placement on the vehicle is given by the drawing enclosed with the sheet.

Application

Cut the elements out one at a time, always only at the moment you are about to stick them down. Soak them in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let them rest until the print slides freely over the backing. Transfer them onto a smooth, glossy and degreased surface, press the excess water out with a soft cloth and help them along with a softener at rivets and edges. Once dry, go over the area with varnish so that the edges of the carrier film disappear.
