TIGER I PANZERKAMPFWAGEN VI CUTE SERIES is a caricature kit of the German heavy tank from the foreshortened Cute line, that is a model with deliberately unreduced proportions.
Responsibility details are not available.
This kit does not belong among classic models in a fixed scale. The Cute line works with a stylized shorthand: the hull and the turret are shortened, the running gear hides under a short side and the result is a toy-like tank with a big gun. That is precisely why no scale is given for these models; they keep to no exact reduction of the real machine. The assembly is brisk compared with an ordinary tank and tends to be a rewarding introduction to building vehicles.
The Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger, commonly designated the Tiger I, was a German heavy tank deployed from 1942. It was marked out by its thick frontal armor, its 88 mm gun and its rugged running gear with interleaved road wheels. The caricature treatment takes mainly these unmistakable features from the real machine, so the tank stays recognizable at first glance even though its shape does not match the real proportions.
The stylized shape takes honest modeling methods surprisingly well. Round the base shade out with a lighter spray from above, which brings out the volume, and dust the lower part of the hull lightly with pigments. The engraving and the gaps come out once a dark shade is drawn into the lines. Because the surfaces are short, a small scuffed edge or a patch of rust on the gun is enough to make the model look alive. The tracks and the wheels tend to be simplified, so they are easy to paint separately and fit only at the end.
