Responsibility details are not available.
A set of four figures of German paratroopers in 1:35 scale from Dragon, placed in its Gen2 range. It is not a model of a vehicle or a set of finished figures: the parts are on injection-molded plastic sprues and the figures are assembled and painted. The set is completed by photo-etched buckles and badges and a pair of airdrop containers for equipment, which can also be used on their own as an element of a scene.
The figures depict members of the German parachute units in the Netherlands in 1940. The gear is characteristic of the period: the 1938-pattern helmet with no rim, a jump smock over the uniform, jump trousers and laced jump boots of the early type with a profiled sole, together with a gas mask bag. The smocks and trousers are done as separate parts in the set, which allows the folds to be picked out more finely. The armament includes the P08 pistol, the Kar98K bolt-action rifle, the MP38 submachine gun, the MG34 machine gun and the 1924-pattern stick grenade.
Glue the figures with thin polystyrene cement and sand the parting lines on the hands and faces with very fine paper. Attach the photo-etched buckles and badges with cyanoacrylate and bend them over a sharp edge. The figures take paint best over a primer, in acrylics or oils, with the folds shaded step by step; leave the faces and hands until last. The jump smocks had an irregular camouflage print, which is sprayed or stippled in several layers working from the top down.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
