This injection-molded plastic figure set from Dragon in 1:35 scale captures members of the British 2nd SAS Regiment (Special Air Service) during operations in France in 1944. The package contains a set of figures in dynamic poses, dressed in windproof camouflage Denison smocks and maroon berets as the airborne soldiers wore them at the time. The figures come with weapons and items of equipment matching the real subject, including Enfield rifles and the Sten submachine gun. It is a figure kit to be assembled and painted, not a finished model.
The SAS was a British special unit that during the Second World War carried out sabotage and reconnaissance actions deep in the enemy rear. After the landings in Normandy in 1944, SAS teams operated in the French interior, supported the local resistance and disrupted German supply routes.
Carefully separate the small parts from the sprue and clean up the mold seams. Glue them with plastic cement for styrene or with cyanoacrylate. With figures it pays to paint the parts before the final assembly; faces and the shading of cloth come out best with oils or acrylics and a dry-brush technique. Unify the weapons with a matte shade.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
