Three-dimensional strips of welds and areas with a cast structure for armored equipment in 1:35 scale, the first part.
Responsibility details are not available.
Armor parts came about by two routes and each left a trace of its own. Rolled plates were joined by a weld whose bead stayed rough and irregular, because what decided was strength and not appearance. Cast pieces, typically turrets or the front sections of hulls, carried their surface straight from the mold, strewn with fine waves and with marks from cores and risers.
Close up, both textures are very pronounced and in photographs of the day they catch the eye sooner than rivets or hatches. Plastic kits often soften them beyond recognition, though, because a polished mold does not carry a rough surface over, and a finished model then looks like a freshly polished car.
The package offers finished strips and areas which are laid onto a finished surface without solvents, without putty and without sanding. Compared with shaping a weld from a stretched plastic rod or from modeling compound, the wait for curing drops away and the result has the same roughness along its whole length.
The set is not tied to a single type of vehicle; it suits anywhere 1:35 armor is too smooth. It is recommended to work in shorter sections and to proceed from the most visible edges. The kit of the vehicle is not included.
The best result comes from working to a photograph of a real machine. The weld around the hatch of an engine compartment looks different from the one joining the front plate to the side of the hull, and even a small respect for such differences moves a model a step further.
